SOUTH CIKARANG - The Bekasi Regency Government continues to take strategic steps to encourage an increase in Regional Original Revenue (PAD) from the tax and levy sector. This time, the Bekasi Regency Government again held a Regional Tax socialization for business people in the Hyundai Cikarang Industrial Estate, located at the Harper Cikarang Hotel, on Monday (05/08/2024).
In front of dozens of tenants in the industrial area, Pj Regent of Bekasi Dani Ramdan directly gave a presentation regarding the importance of company contributions in tax revenue. Tax is one of the sources of PAD for development and welfare in the Bekasi Regency area.
"Because there are several things that we need to optimize and I see that Bapenda has tried door to door socializing, inviting but not all companies want to attend. I tried this time to socialize directly, hopefully the level of awareness and compliance from taxes and levies will also increase," he said.
Dani Ramdan explained, the increase in regional tax revenue, of course, has a reciprocal effect on local government efforts and programs in equitable development. Especially infrastructure that supports the running of business activities and the wheels of the economy not only for the community, but also business people in the industrial area.
"Because all taxes collected, collected by the local government will return to the community, including the business world in the form of infrastructure development, in the form of administrative services, licensing, regulation and also health education services. And it will all create a conducive business climate," he explained.
Furthermore, Dani Ramdan emphasized that the Bekasi Regency Government is committed to presenting Bekasi Regency as a prime investment destination in West Java and Indonesia.
He also invited all companies that attended the socialization to continue to be committed to supporting regional development through their tax contributions. For those who have not, because they have indeed carried out several provisions, they can be open, can be encouraged to carry out their tax and retribution obligations.
"And also of course not only that. There are so many contributions of the company outside of taxes, there is absorption of employment, absorption of local products and so on," he said.
Head of the Bekasi Regency Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Ani Gustini added, based on the results of the evaluation, it turns out that other potentials that can currently be optimized to increase regional income are catering taxes.
Because based on taxpayer data, the percentage of registered caterers, with the number of companies in Bekasi Regency. The numbers are still fairly far away. A total of 349 caterers have been registered from around 7000 companies in Bekasi Regency.
"Our hope is of course all of them, but at this time it is still gradual, maybe the target is around 1000 first. Because apart from catering, we are also optimizing regional revenue from the motor vehicle tax sector," he concluded.
