West Bandung -The Pasir Buluh Integrated Waste Processing Facility (TPST) project in Lembang District, West Bandung Regency (KBB) is included in the list of 12 best infrastructure projects at the 2026 West Java Investment Challenge (WJIC).
The West Java chapter of Bank Indonesia (BI) and the West Java Provincial Government are involved in the investment screening process. The goal is to screen potential basic service projects for potential offerings to domestic and global investors.
Meanwhile, the Pasir Buluh TPST (landfill site) itself is being prepared by the West Bandung Regency Government as a circular economy-based waste management site. This step is being taken to maximize resource utilization while minimizing waste.
"WJIC is not just a forum for evaluating investment projects, but rather a collaborative space to present projects that have certainty, readiness, and real impact for the community. We are proud and ready to work on and develop circular economy-based waste management at the Pasir Buluh TPST with investment partners," said West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail on Wednesday (September 16, 2026).
Many regions currently face waste management challenges. According to Jeje, a circular economy approach offers a gradual solution to waste management challenges. This concept not only reduces waste generation but also creates new economic value.
Through this program, the West Bandung Regency Government aims to increase the capacity of integrated waste management, reduce the burden on Final Processing Sites (TPA), and produce economically valuable products such as refuse-derived fuel (RDF) and recycled materials.
"Furthermore, West Kalimantan (KBB) has diverse characteristics as a tourist area, agricultural area, residential area, and economic growth center. This WJIC visit is expected to provide a comprehensive picture of the Pasir Buluh TPST Project's readiness, including location, local government support, technical readiness, and other aspects," said Jeje.
To support the acceleration of the realization of this strategic investment, the West Bandung Regency Government is committed to providing full support through simplifying licensing, strengthening coordination between regional agencies, and providing supporting infrastructure.
"This is a concrete step to strengthen sustainable investment, improve community welfare, and realize a TRUSTED West Bandung," said Jeje.
