SUKABUMI – The trade and services sector remains the main pillar supporting the increase in investment in Sukabumi City. During the first semester of 2025, the recorded investment value reached IDR 131.35 billion, thus increasing the total investment in Sukabumi City to IDR 739.69 billion.
Cecep Iskandar, Investment Management Officer at the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) of Sukabumi City, said this achievement shows a positive trend compared to the same period last year.
“Alhamdulillah, the investment this year has already reached the target,” Cecep told reporters on Thursday (September 18).
According to him, this significant increase is driven by two main factors. First, the increasing number of business actors understanding the importance of business legality. “Second, the addition of the Indonesian Standard Business Field Classification (KBLI) which automatically increases the business capital,” he explained.
Cecep considers the achievement remarkable, given that the number of business actors in Sukabumi City is not as many as in other regions. “With relatively few business actors, this significant increase is quite proud,” he said.
Not only noting investment numbers, DPMPTSP also reported positive impacts on labor absorption. From January to June 2025, a total of 3,614 workers were absorbed by various business sectors.
“As of mid-2025, Sukabumi City has 6,150 active business units. The details consist of 5,220 micro businesses, 878 small businesses, 22 medium businesses, and 30 large companies that continue to contribute to regional economic growth,” he added.
He is optimistic that the investment trend will continue to grow until the end of the year. “With business actors’ increasing awareness of licensing, the trade and services sector is believed to still be the main engine driving Sukabumi City’s economic wheel,” he concluded.
