POJOKSATU.id, Bandung City - Acting Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, called on all architects to create environmentally friendly building designs to support sustainable development in West Java.

In his speech at the Awarding Night of the Indonesian Architects Association (IAI) Jabar Award, at Savoy Homan Hotel, Bandung City, Saturday (27/7/2024), Bey Machmudin emphasized the importance of applying safe construction technology, using environmentally friendly building materials, and utilizing renewable energy such as solar power.

“I hope that architects in West Java continue to develop themselves, broaden their horizons and adopt the latest technology in every work produced,” he said.

Bey also invited stakeholders to continue to work together in creating an environment that supports the development of architecture in West Java.

“The West Java Provincial Government is committed to supporting every initiative that aims to improve the quality of development and people's lives,” he said.

He also appreciated the architects who have contributed their works to the development of West Java. He said architecture has an important role in shaping the face and identity of a region.

“Good architecture not only reflects beauty and aesthetics but must also be able to answer the challenges of the times, be environmentally friendly and sustainable,” he said.

In recent years, Bey said he has seen many architectural works that have had a positive impact on the people of West Java. Both in terms of economy, social and culture.

“I am very proud to see the development and innovation that has been done by architects in West Java. This is proof that our architects are able to answer the challenges and needs of society,” he said.

Through this award, Bey hopes to motivate architects to continue working and contributing their best for the progress of West Java.

“To all the architects present, I thank you for your dedication and hard work in building a better West Java,” he said.

“Let us make this a momentum to continue to innovate and collaborate for mutual progress,” Bey concluded.

Karawang, Bekasi, and Subang Become Leading Destinations for Foreign Investment in West Java

The realization of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in West Java throughout 2025 shows an interesting dynamic. While cities such as Bandung and Bogor have traditionally received significant attention as investment destinations, several other districts have emerged as the primary targets for foreign investors. This shift is supported by the availability of industrial estates, well-developed infrastructure, and simplified investment licensing procedures. Global investors are increasingly attracted to regions that offer large land availability, strategic logistics access, and strong support from local governments in creating a conducive and sustainable business environment. As a result, several areas in West Java have emerged as new centers of foreign investment. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Karawang Regency ranks first with an investment realization of IDR 50.86 trillion. This achievement is driven by the presence of nationally and internationally recognized industrial estates, direct access to the Trans Java Toll Road, and proximity to Tanjung Priok Port and Patimban Port. Karawang is widely known as a major manufacturing hub, particularly for the automotive and electronics industries. Bekasi Regency and Bekasi City rank second with an investment realization of IDR 49.66 trillion. The region is recognized as one of the largest industrial centers in Indonesia, supported by well-established industrial zones, comprehensive transportation infrastructure, and close proximity to Jakarta as the nation’s main business and logistics hub. Meanwhile, the surge in investment in Subang Regency is closely related to the development of Patimban Port and the establishment of new industrial estates. Subang is increasingly viewed as a strategic industrial buffer zone in northern West Java, especially for export-oriented manufacturing industries. In addition to these three regions, several other areas in West Java also recorded notable investment realizations. Bogor Regency recorded investments of IDR 7.23 trillion, driven by the property, tourism, and service industries. Cianjur Regency recorded investments of IDR 3.1 trillion, supported by the agribusiness sector, tourism, and medium-scale processing industries. Purwakarta Regency recorded investments of IDR 2.89 trillion, largely flowing into manufacturing, logistics, and supporting industries due to its strategic location along the main Jakarta–Bandung corridor. West Bandung Regency recorded investments of IDR 2.71 trillion, mainly in tourism, property, and creative industries. Bandung City recorded investments of IDR 2.69 trillion, primarily driven by the creative economy, technology, education, and service sectors. Although the investment value is not as large as industrial regions, Bandung plays a crucial role as a center of innovation and a source of high-quality human resources. Sukabumi Regency recorded investments of IDR 2.23 trillion in sectors such as fisheries, tourism, and processing industries. Meanwhile, Depok City recorded investments of IDR 2.09 trillion, mainly in the property, education, and service sectors, supported by its proximity to Jakarta and its continuously growing population. Investing in a Healthier Future, Telkom Distributes Clean Water Sanitation Assistance

Jakarta, 4 October 2024 - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) distributed clean water and proper sanitation assistance to 17 provinces in 53 locations throughout Indonesia. Among them are the provinces of East Java, West Java, Central Java, DKI Jakarta, Banten, North Sumatra, Lampung and Riau. Not only that, the provinces of Riau Islands, South Sumatra, Aceh, Jambi, D. I. Yogyakarta, Bali, East Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi and South Sulawesi also received benefits. Clean water and proper sanitation are basic human needs. One of the points in the Sustainable Development Goals (TPB) in the environmental sector is to ensure that people can easily achieve access to drinking water and adequate sanitation. Quoting data from the PUPR Ministry, it is stated that in 2022, there will be 35.3 million people in Indonesia who will not have access to clean and adequate water. The majority of people who do not have access to clean and adequate water live in rural areas. This aid distribution activity has been carried out throughout 2024 and is estimated to have provided benefits to thousands of heads of families throughout Indonesia. The clean water and proper sanitation aid distribution program is part of Telkom's Environmental Social Responsibility (TJSL). This program also implements the Government's target in the National Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMN), to realize 90% access to adequate sanitation, as well as providing 100% access to adequate drinking water, and 15% access to safe drinking water by 2024. Fourth Quarter 2025: West Java Remains Top Five in National Investment Realization

Minister of Investment and Downstream Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Roeslani, explained that the contributions of Java and outside Java to achieving the investment target for the fourth quarter of 2025 were nearly equal. Investment in Java reached IDR 247.5 trillion (49.8 percent), while outside Java reached IDR 249.4 trillion (50.2 percent). West Java remains the province with the highest investment realization, with IDR 78.7 trillion. Meanwhile, Central Sulawesi consistently ranks among the top five provinces for investment profits, this time with IDR 29.6 trillion. Bahlil Announces 13 Additional Downstream Projects Worth Rp239 Trillion

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, announced that the government is preparing 13 additional downstream (value-added) projects with a total investment value of approximately Rp239 trillion. The announcement was made after attending a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday (March 25, 2026). According to Bahlil, these additional projects complement the previously announced 20 first-phase downstream projects, some of which have already entered the groundbreaking stage, while others are scheduled to begin soon. “We are adding 13 more downstream projects with a total investment of around Rp239 trillion, which are currently being finalized,” Bahlil stated. Acceleration of Alternative Energy Development During the meeting, the government also discussed accelerating the development of alternative energy sources. President Prabowo instructed that all potential energy sources, including biofuels and renewable energy, should be developed more rapidly. This includes initiatives such as bioethanol production, biodiesel from crude palm oil (CPO), and broader efforts to accelerate the energy transition. Initial Downstream Projects Previously, Indonesia’s sovereign investment agency, BPI Danantara, conducted groundbreaking ceremonies for several early-stage downstream projects in the energy sector, including: Aluminum smelter and alumina refinery (SGAR) in Mempawah, West Kalimantan Bioavtur refinery in Cilacap, Central Java, with a capacity of around 6,000 barrels per day Bioethanol plant in Glenmore, Banyuwangi, with a capacity of 30,000 kiloliters per year Integrated poultry farming projects across multiple regions with expansion plans up to 30 locations Salt processing and MVR facilities in Gresik and Madura with a capacity of up to 200,000 tons per year National Priority Downstream Projects In total, the government has identified 18 priority downstream and energy resilience projects with a combined investment value of approximately US$38.63 billion (Rp640.4 trillion). District Government Hopes MPP Can Boost Investment Into Majalengka

MAJALENGKA, TINTAHIJAUcom – Majalengka Regency Public Service Mall (MPP) is certain to be ready to serve the public starting next week. This is because the Majalengka Regency Government (Pemkab) plans to hold a soft opening of the MPP in the near future. Acting Regent of Majalengka, Dedi Supandi, said that the MPP would provide approximately 15 types of services from OPD within the Majalengka Regency Government to vertical agencies ranging from the Ministry of Religion, BPN, Immigration, Bank BJB, and others. These include business permits, electronic KTP recording, student transfers, health facility permit verification, KIP recommendations, subsidized fuel recommendations, building approvals, making district plan certificates, transportation permits, environmental management statements, and taxpayer registration. "Including Hajj registration provided by the Majalengka Ministry of Religion, information on the land certificate process from BPN Majalengka, passport making from the Immigration Office, and Bank BJB which opens banking services at the MPP," he said, Tuesday (12/11/2024). His party also accelerated the development of the MPP within six months, because Majalengka Regency is one of seven out of 27 regions in West Java that does not yet have an MPP. So the Ministry of PANRB and the West Java Provincial Government issued a circular so that all regional governments have MPP this year.
