WJtoday, Bandung - The Regional Government of West Java Province is currently preparing a Regional Long Term Development Plan (RPJPD) for 2025 - 2045.

The RPJPD, which will guide West Java's development for the next 20 years, is targeted for completion in August 2024.

West Java Regional Secretary Taufik Budi Santoso, Daily Executive (Plh), said that later this RPJPD would also be the basis for preparing the Regional Medium Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2025 - 2030.

The initial draft of the RPJPD must be completed before the 2024 regional elections because the RPJMD will be the basis for the KPU and Bawaslu to appoint candidates for Governor of West Java for the 2024 - 2029 period.

"Before this RPJMD is used as the basis for implementing regional elections, the 2025-2045 RPJPD must be completed first. It is targeted that the RPJPD will be adopted as a regional regulation in August 2024," said Taufik during a discussion meeting of the RPJPD with all regional officials at the West Java Bappeda office, Bandung City, Wednesday ( 10/1/2024).

The preparation of the 2025 - 2045 RPJPD will adhere to 10 principles. The main principle is SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Rational, Tempo).

"10 principles that must be adhered to in preparing the RPJPD. In essence, every plan we prepare must implement these 10 principles, especially we must be able to apply the SMART principle," said Taufik.

In October 2023, the West Java Bappeda carried out an evaluation of the RPJPD 20 years earlier. The evaluation results are part of the preparation of the initial draft of the 2025 - 2045 RPJPD.

Then in December 2023, the initial draft was submitted to the West Java DPRD and in January 2024 it is targeted to be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Furthermore, in February 2024 the initial draft of the RPJPD is expected to be completed because in March 2024 it will be discussed at the West Java Regional Musrenbang.

The results of the Regional Musrenbang are the final draft of the RPJPD which is targeted for completion in April 2024.

The final draft of the RPJPD will then be evaluated by the Inspectorate before being discussed again with the West Java DPRD to be made into a draft regional regulation for the period May to June 2024.

After the RPJDP draft regional regulation is decided together with the DPRD, it is then submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs to be evaluated first before being adopted as a regional regulation.

"Every legal product in the region must of course receive an evaluation from the Ministry of Home Affairs, so the West Java RPJPD Regional Regulation will be enacted in August no later than the second week," said Taufik.

Issues discussed in the 2025 - 2045 RPJPD include poverty alleviation, unemployment, Gini ratio, stunting, environmental issues, basic services, internet access blank spots and increasing the Human Development Index.***
