PenaKu.ID - West Java Festival 2024 was successfully held. Various activities were held festively on August 23-25, 2024 to celebrate the 79th Anniversary of West Java Province.

Thousands of visitors were present during the event both at Gedung Sate and GOR Saparua.

West Java Festival 2024 was lively with a series of activities ranging from cultural arts festivals, MSME and culinary bazaars, seminars, workshops, job fairs, puppet shows to music concerts.

Not only that, this event also has a positive impact on economic turnover. According to incoming data, the economic turnover reached around Rp 70 billion from direct income (government, booths, and sponsors), as well as shopping expenditures of visitors who were present at Gedung Sate and GOR Saparua.

According to West Java Provincial Secretary Herman Suryatman, this achievement is very beneficial for MSME players and affects the increase in the number of tourist visits to West Java.

“One of the expected impacts of the West Java Festival is to increase the number of tourist visits which of course can encourage the economic movement of the community. This activity also encourages economic activity by attracting investors and business people,” said Herman Suryatman in Bandung, Wednesday (28/8/2024).

“The West Java Festival also strengthens cultural identity and community pride in local cultural heritage. This is a form of implementing the actions of the national movement Proud to Make Indonesia (BBI) and Proud to Travel in Indonesia (BBWI),” he added.

Number of Visitors to West Java Festival 2024

During the three days of implementation, there were around 78,000 people who participated in the West Java Festival 2024. Of these, 65,000 people attended Gedung Sate and 13,000 people enlivened the music concert at GOR Saparua.

“This event is expected to be a reference for the community to recognize the excellence of the tourism and cultural sectors in West Java, as well as part of the implementation of the West Java Provincial Government's collaboration for the community,” said Head of the West Java Tourism and Culture Office Benny Bachtiar.

“We hope that the next WJF will be even more lively because this is the party of the people of West Java on the birthday of West Java Province. Hopefully in the future WJF will become an independent sustainable festival,” he concluded.
