Korean Water Resources Investment in Indonesia: Supporting National Strategic Infrastructure

On June 18, 2024, Korean Water Resources Corporation (K Water) made a strategic visit to Indonesia to explore potential investments in the water infrastructure sector, particularly related to the national strategic project (PSN) at Patimban Port, West Java.

 

The port, which is planned to accommodate 7 million TEUs of containers, is a key focus in Indonesia's infrastructure development efforts.

 

Visit to Patimban Port and Perumda Air Minum Tirta Rangga Subang
K Water's visit to Perumda Air Minum Tirta Rangga Subang at Patimban Port highlighted their commitment to contribute to meeting the clean water needs of the port and surrounding area.

 

The meeting was attended by K Water's Chief Representative in Indonesia, Park Se Won, as well as a representative from Dong-A Ilbo, one of Korea's leading newspapers, Yeyoon Kim, who also observed the investment potential in the water infrastructure sector.

 

According to the Technical Director of Perumda Tirta Rangga, Nana Ruhana, the progress of the construction of the water supply system in Patimban Port has reached 5 liters per second from the final target of 42 liters per second.

 

The first step has been taken with the construction of a reservoir with a capacity of 900 cubic meters, which is planned to be increased to 2 times to support a larger capacity.

 

West Java Investment Roadshow

 

On June 20, 2024, the West Java Investment Roadshow event in Jakarta became an important platform to promote the investment potential in West Java, particularly in Patimban Port.

 

This move is in line with the local government's efforts to attract foreign investment to support regional infrastructure and economic development.

 

Potential Cooperation in the Lake Toba Region

 

Not only in West Java, K Water has also shown its interest in developing infrastructure in the Lake Toba Region, North Sumatra. On June 20, 2024, the Korean SOE participated in a strategic meeting in South Jakarta initiated by the Lake Toba Authority (BPODT).
