Investment realization in West Java (Jabar) is one of the largest in Indonesia. Based on data from the Ministry of Investment / Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the value of PMA and PMDN investment realization in West Java reached Rp210.6 trillion.

Highlighting this, Commission III member of West Java DPRD Aep Nurdin said that the amount of foreign investment in West Java has not been aligned with the absorption of labor.

The absorption of local West Java labor is still considered low so that it has not had a significant impact on the rate of economic growth.

“West Java has always had the highest foreign investment, but it does not directly correlate with employment,” said Aep, Monday (25/8/2024).

This must be a matter of concern for the West Java provincial government.

According to him, investments entering West Java must go through strict screening and be synchronized with increasing the absorption of local labor.

“There still needs to be synchronization so that how this investment enters the workforce increases, the economy increases. otherwise the investment sector must be considered,” he said.

Aep encouraged that the investment that will enter West Java is also in line with the mission to create a Golden Indonesia in 2045.

According to him, investment in the education and infrastructure sectors must continue to be strengthened.

Including the environmental sector to investments that can alleviate poverty problems in West Java.

“The investment sector is still health, education, and infrastructure. We have a golden indonesia mission, if in terms of planning for the next 20 years the target is dropped from the center and the target is very high how to alleviate poverty, environmental labor and so on. if you don't have high creativity it's a bit difficult,” he said.

“In addition to supervision, the carrying capacity must also be high, the target is given, the budget carrying capacity must also support the achievement of these targets,” he concluded.
