KKJ-PKJB 2024 was officially opened to encourage the expansion of the MSME market
West Java Creative Works and West Java Crafts Week (KKJ-PKJB) 2024, which presents premium craft, fashion, culinary and other creative industry product creations from 130 of West Java's leading MSMEs, was officially opened to help expand their market.
"KKJ-PKJB 2024 is a manifestation of the commitment of the Ministry of Trade together with regional governments and related stakeholders including Bank Indonesia in encouraging the marketing of West Java MSME products," said Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan when giving a speech in Bandung, Friday.
This, he said, is important because MSMEs are an "important engine" for the economy, through large employment absorption and contribution to economic growth and also have the potential to become a motor for increasing Indonesia's export performance, in line with the existence of various commodities that have the potential to be marketed widely to main export destination country.
Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Aida S Budiman, in his speech said that MSMEs also play an important role in controlling regional inflation, where one aspect of controlling inflation, availability of supply, is an important pillar that can be supported by MSME/Food Cluster players.
"In the 2024 KKJ-PKJB, Bank Indonesia together with regional governments through the National Food Inflation Control Movement (GNPIP) program and the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) are also actively strengthening and expanding cooperation between regions, between business actors on a Business to Business (B2B) basis. ," said Aida.
A concrete manifestation of strengthening inter-regional cooperation in the KKJ-PKJB 2024, he said, was the signing of inter-regional cooperation on horticultural commodities between MSME actors from Bandung Regency and Garut Regency and MSME actors from Pangkal Pinang City, Bangka Belitung Province.
BI's support for MSMEs is also realized through the digitalization of payments using QRIS, which by April 2024, West Java will be the epicenter of QRIS user growth in line with its share reaching no less than 22 percent nationally or 10.8 million users.
In campaigning for QRIS to support MSMEs in the tourism sector, at KKJ-PKJB 2024 the QRIS Jelajah Indonesia Kick Off was also inaugurated, which is a mission completion competition by exploring West Java tourist locations.
"QRIS Jelajah Indonesia further complements various MSME development programs by Bank Indonesia, which are expected to further increase the contribution of MSMEs to West Java's economic growth," he said.
In the same place, West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman agreed that the 2024 KKJ-PKJB event was a forum for continuing to expand financial and marketing access for West Java Creative MSMEs.
In organizing the 2024 KKJ-PKJB, the West Java Provincial Government and West Java BI consistently prioritize showcasing and business matching, financing and marketing of MSME products, with future development increasingly focused on MSMEs that have implemented the green economy concept.
"Financing by banks will also be increasingly directed at MSMEs that prioritize environmentally sound products. All of this is of course aimed at realizing West Java's economic growth that is increasingly sustainable and inclusive," said Herman.
Meanwhile, Head of Bank Indonesia West Java Province Representative, Muhamad Nur added that in line with the tagline "Gaspol UMKM, Jabar Caang", KKJ-PKJB 2024 is also equipped with the Java Tea Experience (JTE) 2024 event which is an event showcasing superior product MSMEs tea partners of Bank Indonesia throughout Java.
"JTE 2024 is also equipped with talk shows on artisan tea business development, tea exports and tea mixology classes," he said.
Apart from that, the 2024 KKJ-PKJB is also coupled with the West Java Industrial Meeting (WJIM) which is a forum for BI and stakeholders to disseminate various policies that support the development of industrial players.
In this WJIM, Bank Indonesia will disseminate the Macroprudential Liquidity Incentive (KLM) and Local Currency Transaction (LCT) policies which can support the development of West Java sectoral performance.
"Utilization of KLM and LCT policies, especially in the creative economy sector, will have an impact on optimal financing for West Java Creative MSMEs accompanied by efficient exchange rate costs in the context of export activities. Thus, the meaning and usefulness of the 2024 KKJ-PKJB event in efforts to encourage economic growth in West Java sustainability and inclusion are increasing," he said.
KKJ-PKJB 2024, which is the Road to Indonesian Creative Work event, will be held at the Trans Convention Center and Trans Studio Mall Bandung on 28-30 June 2024.
