RADAR BOGOR - During a meeting with Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the meeting was a collaboration.
“This is part of the collaboration between the central government and regional governments to encourage agricultural growth, downstreaming, and economic growth,” said Dedi Mulyadi.
Additionally, the West Java Governor noted the availability of job opportunities.
“Approximately 23,000 skilled workers will be hired,” he said.
Dedi Mulyadi elaborated that there are investments in Subang Regency, namely VinFast and BYD.
“Earlier, it was mentioned that there is an LP2B area, but in fact, the rice fields no longer exist, yet the LP2B designation still appears on the spatial planning map,” he explained.
Therefore, the West Java Governor stated that he wants to make adjustments so that investments can proceed and agriculture can be replaced.
“I have received a strategic recommendation to replace it threefold. So, if there is an LP2B area called LP2B 200, then 600 hectares of new rice fields will be prepared,” he explained.
Dedi Mulyadi emphasized that his party will act quickly and that everything will be located in the West Java region, possibly in the Indramayu region because it is closer to Subang Regency," he stressed.
To a number of media crews, the Governor of West Java explained that he would prioritize opening new land in Indramayu.
“In Indramayu, there are many areas that have been planted with rice but have not yet been formed into rice fields, still relying on rainwater and the like,” he explained.
Dedi Mulyadi also revealed plans to restore the function of vacant PTPN areas.
"We will restore their function to agricultural use. Tea will return to tea, coffee to coffee. Rubber will return to rubber, but integrated with agricultural interests," the West Java Governor stated.
