Bandung (ANTARA) - The Bandung Regency Government (Pemkab), West Java, is accelerating environmental approvals as part of the business licensing process to support investment and increase regional original income (PAD).
Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna said in Bandung on Wednesday that the acceleration of licensing needs to be carried out through coordination between regional officials, developers, companies, and consultants so that the process runs effectively according to regulations.
"If the consultant can provide maximum assistance, I don't think the Environment Agency will hinder it. So, there must be positive cooperation to help accelerate development," he said.
According to him, the process of managing environmental documents such as UKL-UPL (Environmental Management Efforts and Environmental Monitoring Efforts) and Amdal (Environmental Impact Analysis) must be carried out effectively, including immediately following up on any corrections given by the Environmental Service.
Of the approximately 26 environmental documents previously processed at the Bandung Regency Environmental Service, 11 documents have been completed, while the other documents are still in the completion stage.
Dadang emphasized that relevant regional authorities also need to carry out the licensing process simultaneously so that developers do not have to wait for one stage to complete other requirements.
"The Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUTR) Department is also working simultaneously. Don't wait for approval to begin. Developers or applicants can submit their applications to the Environment Department and work in parallel with the PUTR Department," he said.
He asked developers and consultants to be more proactive in fulfilling licensing requirements and to immediately follow up on documents that still require improvement.
"I want it to happen quickly, so we don't want any delays or obstacles for developers planning to develop in Bandung Regency," he said.
Dadang hopes that coordination between the regional government and business actors will continue to be strengthened so that the licensing process in Bandung Regency can run quickly, effectively, and provide certainty for investment development.
