DESKJABAR - As is known, toll road construction in West Java has so far focused on the northern coast and central routes. However, none of the toll roads leading to the southern region have been completed.

For this reason, the West Java Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Dedi Mulyadi, has encouraged the Central Government to immediately construct and implement the Getaci Toll Road, which leads to the south of West Java.

This toll road to the south of West Java is believed to stimulate economic growth by improving inter-regional connectivity, serving as a logistics route and providing access to a number of tourist destinations.

To achieve this, the Governor, familiarly known as KDM, continues to intensively coordinate with the central government to ensure that every stage, from planning to implementation, runs according to target.

According to KDM, the construction of the Getaci Toll Road, along with four other toll roads in West Java connecting the province and cities/regencies, will begin in 2026.

"With the full support of the West Java Provincial Government, the construction of these three strategic toll roads is expected to improve connectivity, accelerate regional economic growth, and open up new job and investment opportunities for the people of West Java," the West Java Provincial Government stated, as quoted from Instagram @bappedajabar, Sunday, October 5, 2025.

The Getaci Toll Road, which connects the two provinces of West Java and Central Java, stretches 206.65 km from Gedebage, Tasikmalaya, to Cilacap. Construction is divided into two phases:

Phase 1: Gedebage - Tasikmalaya
Phase 2: Tasikmalaya - Cilacap.

Phase 1 construction is further divided into two sections:

Section 1: Gedebage - North Garut
Section 2: North Garut - Tasikmalaya

The Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Wilan Oktavian, confirmed the division of construction phases. He said that construction will temporarily reach Tasikmalaya (Phase 1) before continuing with Phase 2.

"Temporarily (it will reach Tasikmalaya and then continue to Cilacap). That's the excess," he said.

Must Be Operational in 2029

So far, the Getaci Toll Road project has re-entered the tender process, which will be held in 2026, and is targeted to be operational in 2029.

To meet this deadline, several areas in Bandung Regency and Garut Regency are now entering the data validation and compensation (UGR) stage for landowners affected by the Getaci Toll Road.

Once the data validation and UGR reimbursement process in Bandung and Garut Regencies is complete, a similar process will continue in Tasikmalaya Regency and City, Ciamis Regency, Pangandaran Regency, and finally in Cilacap.
