Independennews.com | Bekasi – National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has urged business owners to report illegal levies, thuggery, and crimes that disrupt business and investment activities in Indonesia.
The National Police Chief made the statement while attending the Grand Consolidation of the Federation of Indonesian Metal Workers Unions (FSPMI) in the MM2100 Industrial Area, Bekasi Regency, West Java on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The National Police Chief said that the police must immediately respond to the report and follow up firmly in accordance with legal provisions.
"Entrepreneurs and companies who encounter acts of thuggery, extortion, or other crimes are welcome to report them. I urge the police to take immediate action so that investors will not hesitate to enter Indonesia," Listyo said.
The activity carried the theme "Fair Industrial Relations and Investment Conduciveness".
The event was attended by approximately 2,000 workers from around 1,200 companies in the MM2100 Industrial Area and its surroundings.
The National Police Chief said that security stability is one of the foundations for the sustainability of the business world.
According to him, a well-maintained security situation can provide a sense of security to workers and support the smooth operation of the company.
Furthermore, security conditions are considered related to investor confidence. The Indonesian National Police (Polri) stated that they will continue to provide protection and legal certainty to ensure industrial activities run safely and sustainably.
"The National Police want to reassure entrepreneurs and investors that Indonesia is a safe and conducive place to invest. The National Police will continue to provide security guarantees so that investment and business activities can run smoothly and sustainably," said the National Police Chief.
On the other hand, Listyo reminded that investment conduciveness is not only determined by security factors.
Companies must also comply with regulations, fulfill workers' rights, and build fair and harmonious industrial relations.
According to him, workers and entrepreneurs are two elements that need each other.
Companies need worker support to maintain production, while workers need healthy and growing companies as a source of livelihood.
Therefore, the Chief of Police encouraged the government, employers, workers, and labor unions to prioritize communication and deliberation in resolving labor issues.
Differences in interests, he said, should not develop into conflicts that are detrimental to workers, companies, or the economy.
Meanwhile, the government stated that Indonesia has potential as an investment destination due to its natural resources, large domestic market, and downstream development in various strategic sectors.
National investment realization reached IDR 1,010.6 trillion by the first semester of 2026. During the same period, West Java recorded investment of IDR 138 trillion.
