The Sukabumi-Ciranjang section, which was originally planned to be 29 kilometers long, is now 24 kilometers long.
Media Construction – The government plans to build a new toll road in West Java with an investment value of IDR 14.02 trillion. The toll road, named the Sukabumi-Ciranjang Toll Road, is designed to improve transportation infrastructure while facilitating accessibility in the Sukabumi, Bandung, Cianjur, and Jakarta areas.
This toll road will be built along 45 kilometers as part of the Sukabumi-Ciranjang-Padalarang Toll Road section. This project is planned to start in 2025 and is targeted for completion in 2029.
The construction of this toll road will be carried out in two stages. The first stage covers the Sukabumi to Ciranjang route, which is 21 kilometers long, while the second stage covers the Ciranjang to Padalarang route, which is 24 kilometers long.
The construction scheme for this toll road will use the Government Cooperation with Business Entities (KPBU) system. This development will involve various parties, including the central government, the West Java provincial government, and the relevant district/city governments.
The Sukabumi-Ciranjang Toll Road is designed to improve traffic efficiency, especially for vehicles crossing the Cianjur, Bandung, and Sukabumi areas, which are known to often experience congestion. The presence of this toll road is also expected to be an alternative for road users to shorten travel time.
In addition, the Sukabumi-Ciranjang Toll Road is expected to be able to encourage economic growth through faster efficiency in the distribution of goods. This is projected to have a positive impact, not only for the people of Sukabumi and its surroundings, but also for the entire West Java region.
This project is part of the government's commitment to accelerate the development of strategic infrastructure to support connectivity and increase regional competitiveness in the future.
The Head of the Cianjur Regency Transportation Agency, Tedi Artiawan, said that the construction of the Sukabumi-Ciranjang Toll Road will begin in 2025 and is targeted for completion in 2029. This project will be carried out in two stages, namely the first stage of the Sukabumi-Ciranjang route along 21-24 kilometers and the second stage of the Ciranjang-Padalarang route along 24 kilometers.
"So far we have been wondering when it will be realized or just a discourse. Now there is definite news, so it will last from 2025 to 2029," said Tedi, Monday (6/1/2025).
Tedi explained that until its implementation, several studies will still be carried out by the toll road construction consultant. This study aims to increase the efficiency of the Sukabumi-Cianjur-Bandung Toll Road development plan.
"Actually, the planning is almost final, but there are still several studies being carried out to make it more efficient. For example, the Sukabumi-Ciranjang section which was originally planned to be 29 kilometers long is now 24 kilometers. Studies like this continue to be carried out until the implementation," he added.
Furthermore, Tedi said that in the Cianjur Regency area, it is planned that there will be two toll exits, namely in Ciranjang and Ciwalen, Warungkondang District.
"In Cianjur there will be two toll exits, namely in Ciranjang and Ciwalen. This has been included in the planning," he said.
The construction of this toll road is expected to shorten travel time between Sukabumi, Cianjur, and Bandung, as well as reduce congestion that has often occurred on this route. In addition, the existence of this toll road is also expected to encourage regional economic growth by increasing connectivity and efficiency of distribution of goods and services. (***)
