Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Invites Business Players to Participate and Invest in Patimban Port, West Java

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi invites businesses to participate, invest, and conduct business activities at Patimban Port.

This is a form of the government's success in attracting investors as well as development in Subang Regency.

“The success of development policies carried out by the Indonesian Government cannot be achieved without the role, contribution, support and collaboration of economic actors, businesses and producers in the vicinity,” said Budi Karya in his online presentation on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

He hopes that Patimban Port can increase business potential at the port and the region, especially West Java and its surroundings.

“With the development of Patimban Port, sea transportation and logistics services can be easier, more efficient, and improve the economy in the West Java and National regions,” Budi Karya continued.

It is known that the Ministry of Transportation together with PT Pelabuhan Patimban Internasional (PPI) and PT Patimban International Car Terminal (PICT), continues to develop Patimban Port.

This is to provide sea transportation facilities, as well as a business outlet for businesses, especially in West Java.

Patimban Port was built and developed in several stages, namely phase I-1 (2018-2021), phase I-2 (2022-2025), and will be continued in phase II and phase III.

The government is also building the Patimban Port ecosystem by developing a backup area to support the smooth running of port activities.

The backup area is also offered to investors to accelerate the construction of the backup area.

For the purpose of the backup area, the Ministry of Transportation has acquired ± 350 Ha of land.

In addition to supporting the main port activities and loading and unloading activities, the area can also be used for the development of new industrial areas that can streamline logistics costs.

Patimban Port currently has various operational facilities, including automation gates at the international terminal, receiving areas at domestic and international terminals, complete facilities in the inspection area, pre yard, storage yard, security CCTV at 20 points, to lighting in the storage area and dock.

The port is also equipped with CIQP (Customs Immigration Quarantine Procedure) to support export and import activities.

Ship services at this port are carried out online through Inaportnet.

Patimban Port, which has been completed in Phase I-1, has now been operated since 2020 through temporary operations and in 2021 it will be fully operated with port management / operator, namely the Port Business Entity PT PPI.

In 2021 the Vehicle Terminal with a capacity of 218,000 cbu / year has served operations with a total load of 31,856 CBU / year or 15 percent of capacity.

Then in 2022 the total load rose to 198,064 CBU / year or 91.1 percent of capacity, and in 2023 the total load was 224,935 CBU or 103.18 percent of capacity.

In June 2024 the total load has reached 90,659 CBU or 41.59 percent of capacity.

Cirebon (ANTARA) - The Cirebon City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency (DPMPTSP), West Java, recorded that investment realization in the region reached IDR 1.85 trillion in 2025, exceeding the established target. Acting Head of the Cirebon City DPMPTSP, Icip Suryadi, stated in Cirebon on Tuesday that this achievement represents investment growth of 88.52 percent compared to the previous year. He stated that this investment realization is equivalent to a target achievement ratio of 189.2 percent, out of the 2025 investment realization target of IDR 980 billion. "With this achievement, Cirebon City is one of the regions with the best investment growth percentages in West Java," he said. He explained that this achievement is the result of the active contribution of business actors and investors, who carry out their business activities and submit Investment Activity Reports (LKPM) in an orderly and timely manner. According to him, the LKPM report is an important instrument for capturing real and measurable investment activity in Cirebon City. "This is an achievement in the development of investment realization in Cirebon City," he said. He said this increase in investment realization reflects the level of investor confidence in the business climate and ease of licensing in Cirebon City. Danantara and INA Sign Investment Agreement in Prajogo’s Listed Company Project

JAKARTA, investor.id – Danantara Indonesia, Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), and Chandra Asri Group (TPIA)—the listed company of Prajogo Pangestu—have officially signed a Conditional Share Subscription Agreement (CSSA) to strengthen domestic production capacity of Caustic Soda and Ethylene Dichloride (EDC) and enhance national supply resilience. This agreement follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously signed by Danantara Indonesia, INA, and PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (Chandra Asri Group), under which Danantara Indonesia and INA act as strategic investors in the project. The agreement marks the capital commitment phase supporting the construction of the Chlor Alkali – Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) plant in Cilegon, Banten, developed and operated by Chandra Asri Group. The project aims to reduce dependence on imports of critical raw materials used across various industries, while advancing the downstream industrialization agenda as part of Indonesia’s long-term economic transformation. The establishment of domestic Caustic Soda production capacity is expected to significantly strengthen import substitution and improve domestic supply resilience. Meanwhile, EDC production will not only support domestic industrial needs but also has the potential to increase exports and contribute to foreign exchange earnings, alongside strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s national chemical industry. The CA-EDC plant development is valued at US$800 million and forms part of the National Strategic Projects (PSN), focusing on the production of essential raw materials for both upstream and downstream industries. Caustic Soda is used as a key raw material in the production of soap and detergents, alumina refining, and paper manufacturing processes. EDC, on the other hand, is a primary raw material supporting the construction and packaging industries. Under the agreed investment structure, Danantara Indonesia and INA will jointly invest a total of US$200 million. The funding will be allocated to develop the strategic CA-EDC industrial facility managed by PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA), a subsidiary of Chandra Asri Group, which is scheduled to commence operations in 2027. Taufik Nurrohim Highlights West Java's Economic Growth Target of 7.95 Percent in the RPJMD

TRIBUNJABAR.ID - Bandung, June 26, 2025 - Discussions on the West Java Provincial Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2025-2029 have now entered a strategic phase. Through the West Java DPRD Special Committee (Pansus), the document outlining the direction of development for the next five years is being thoroughly analyzed. One of the central issues that has emerged in the discussion is the target economic growth rate (LPE) of 7.95 percent by 2029. This figure has been set to align with the national development direction outlined in the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), which targets an 8 percent economic growth rate nationally. However, for Taufik Nurrohim, S.Psi, a member of the West Java DPRD from the PKB faction who is also a member of the RPJMD Special Committee, this target should not just be a pipe dream on paper. He emphasized the importance of looking at the current economic reality in West Java and the available fiscal capacity of the region. “We must start from reality. Currently, West Java's LPE is at around 4.95 percent in 2024. This means that in the next five years, we want to add almost 3 points — this is a big leap. The question is not only whether it is possible or not, but what must be sacrificed and prepared,” said Taufik. He highlighted that the most obvious challenge lies in the region's fiscal capacity. With limited regional budget space and the dominance of routine spending, it is difficult to imagine that growth can be achieved without actively involving the private sector and investment. Therefore, Taufik emphasized that the key to pushing the LPE to 7.95 percent is the acceleration of productive and inclusive investment. However, accelerating investment is not without obstacles. The unfinished spatial planning process, weak infrastructure support in the southern and central regions, and the low readiness of the local workforce are structural obstacles that must be overcome. Taufik reminded that economic growth will only occur if the main engines of development run in harmony: investment, vocational education, connectivity, and synchronized spatial planning. “Investment is the driving force, but without ready land, suitable labor, and clear licensing, investment will only pile up on paper,” he said. Amid limited fiscal conditions, Taufik also encouraged the optimization of creative financing through the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme, the utilization of strategic regional-owned enterprises (BUMD), and the restructuring of regional budget (APBD) programs to focus more on sectors that drive economic growth. In addition to accelerating investment, the DPRD emphasized the importance of equitable growth across regions. According to Taufik, if West Java relies solely on growth from old industrial areas such as Bekasi, Karawang, and Bogor, it will remain trapped in inequality. He urged the RPJMD to encourage the creation of new growth zones in the southern region, the northern coast, and rural areas based on agriculture and tourism. Furthermore, Taufik also noted that high economic growth does not automatically reduce poverty or unemployment if it is not accompanied by structural transformation in the employment sector. He emphasized the need for connectivity between investment plans, the provision of job training, and vocational education reforms that directly address the needs of industry. “We must not pursue large-scale investment, but then bring in workers from outside the region because we are not ready. This means that growth must be closely linked to improving the quality of local human resources,” said Taufik.
