Investment in Karawang in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp15.3 trillion

Karawang (ANTARA) - The Investment and Integrated Services One Door Service of Karawang Regency, West Java, recorded the realization of investment that entered the Karawang region in the first quarter of 2025 reached Rp15.3 trillion.

Head of the Investment and Integrated Service of One Door Karawang, Wawan Setiawan, mentioned that during this time the investment achievement in Karawang is quite high. In a year ago, January-December 2024, broke the figure of Rp68.5 trillion.

In accordance with the data on the development of investment realization in West Java, in the first quarter or January-March 2025, the realization of investment in Karawang swallowed reached Rp15,348,399,003,693.

With this achievement, Karawang still ranks second highest investment value in West Java region. While the first order is Bekasi Regency which in the first quarter the investment value reached Rp21.3 trillion.

Then the third order is Bogor Regency which realizes the value of its investment until the first quarter reaches around Rp7.1 trillion. Followed by Purwakarta which reached around Rp4 trillion, and Bekasi City was around Rp3.4 trillion.

Wawan said, the investment that enters the Karawang region is foreign investment and domestic investment, which is mostly capital-intensive investment.

Meanwhile, when compared to the first quarter of 24, the realization of investment that entered Karawang throughout the first quarter of this year was lower.

Recorded in the first quarter of 24, the realization of investment in Karawang reached Rp16.3 trillion. While in the first quarter of this year, the realization was recorded at Rp15.3 trillion.

However, the realization of investment in Karawang this year is sure to continue to grow. Because the first quarter investment report record is still a temporary achievement.

Increased 240%, Number of Sharia Stock Investors Reached 151,560 People

JAKARTA – The number of sharia stock investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) experienced significant growth until early September 2024. Based on data collected from Sharia Online Trading System (AB-SOTS) Exchange Members as of September 9 2024, the number of sharia stock investors increased by 240% in in the last five years, from 44,536 investors in 2018, to 151,560 investors in July 2024. From a geographical perspective, as of June 2024, at least the 6 largest regions on the island of Java still dominate the distribution of sharia investors, led by DKI Jakarta (18%), West Java (14%), East Java (12%), Central Java (9%), DI Yogyakarta (6%), and Banten (4%). Meanwhile, Aceh province is a 'Special Region' whose requirements for the application of Islamic sharia law still contribute 3% of the total sharia investors as of June 2024. In terms of transactions, as of September 9 2024, the average daily volume of stock transactions included in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) has reached 76% of the total transaction volume on the IDX. The total value of sharia share transactions in the first half of 2024 has reached IDR 2.2 trillion, with a volume of 5.8 billion shares. A number of Java regions still control the majority of transactions. Ciamis Projected to Become Eastern Priangan's Agro-Industrial Hub, DPMPTSP Targets Downstream Investment

Ciamis Regency is projected to undergo a major transformation from a producer of primary commodities into an agro-industrial and food distribution hub for the Eastern Priangan region. This opportunity arises as Ciamis becomes part of the South West Java Economic Corridor, one of the national government's priority development initiatives. Head of the Ciamis Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP), Eka Permana Oktaviana, S.T., M.A.P., said that Ciamis holds a strategic position as a key food-producing area and hinterland that supports regional production and distribution activities. "We hope Ciamis will become a hub for agricultural products produced across the Eastern Priangan region," Eka said on Monday (June 29, 2026). According to him, this strategic role positions Ciamis as a major supplier of agricultural raw materials while also supporting the needs of surrounding trade and service centers. Eka explained that, together with Garut Regency and Tasikmalaya Regency, Ciamis serves as one of the main economic pillars of the South West Java Corridor, contributing approximately 77 percent of the region's overall economic activity. This is supported by Ciamis Regency's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), which reached approximately Rp47 trillion in 2025. The agricultural sector, which accounts for nearly 29 percent of the corridor's total economy, is considered a strong foundation for attracting investment, particularly in downstream agricultural and fisheries processing industries. Investment opportunities include the development of agricultural and fisheries processing industries, food production centers, agro-horticultural estates, warehousing facilities, regional distribution centers, packing houses, and cold storage facilities. According to Eka, the primary challenge currently facing Ciamis is the limited development of downstream industries and value chain integration. Therefore, investment in processing industries—particularly the food and beverage sector—is urgently needed to increase the value of local commodities rather than selling them solely as raw materials. He also noted that, based on economic simulations, investment in road connectivity, transportation, warehousing, trade, and processing industries could generate an economic multiplier effect of 1.78 times. In other words, every investment entering the region has the potential to generate economic activity worth up to 1.78 times its initial value. Eka added that Ciamis' investment climate is further strengthened by national policy support through Presidential Regulation No. 87 of 2021, which provides greater regulatory certainty and broader market opportunities for investors. In addition, Ciamis enjoys strategic connectivity to Tasikmalaya City, Banjar City, and the Pangandaran tourism area, making the regency increasingly attractive for business and investment. 123,317 People Have Utilized Bandung City MPP Facilities

Bandung City (ANTARA) - The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) revealed that 123,317 people have utilized the Public Service Mall (MPP) facilities with various destination agencies. Head of the Bandung City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) Ronny Ahmad Nurudin said that since it was inaugurated in August 2022, public interest in getting services at the MPP has been quite good. “Regarding services to the community, the Community Satisfaction Index for MPP Bandung City is at 93.89 as of June 2024,” Ronny said in Bandung on Monday. Regent confirms shoe factory investment in Kuningan

Kuningan (ANTARA) - Kuningan Regent Dian Rachmat Yanuar has confirmed that investment in the manufacturing sector in the form of a shoe factory will soon be coming to Kuningan Regency, West Java, with an investment value of between Rp1.2 trillion and Rp1.8 trillion. “One of the agreements reached is the entry of investors in the manufacturing sector with an estimated investment value ranging from Rp1.2 trillion to Rp1.8 trillion,” said Dian in his statement in Kuningan on Friday. The two new SEZs are in West Java, namely the Subang SEZ and the Patimban SEZ. The West Java Provincial Government is optimistic that the presence of the Subang SEZ and the Patimban SEZ can encourage economic growth, especially in the Ciayumajakuning area. Acting (Acting) Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin said that his party continues to encourage the acceleration of development in the region through the development of two KEKs which have been approved by the KEK National Council. The Patimban SEZ is in Subang Regency. The SEZ which was designed as a manufacturing SEZ was proposed by PT Wahana Mitra Semesta with business activities in the downstream processing of petrochemicals, EV batteries and semiconductors, logistics and distribution, as well as energy development. The Patimban SEZ is proposed with a land area of 511 hectares with a total investment realization of IDR 141.6 trillion in 2054 with a target workforce of 156,154 people.The Subang KEK was proposed by PT Aneka Bumi Cipta as the fourth proposed SEZ with a target of investment realization for the Subang KEK of IDR 134.59 trillion with a land area of 481.93 hectares. The Subang SEZ has business activities in the production and processing of electric car assembly and logistics and distribution. PT BYD Auto Indonesia, which operates in the electric car sector, is the anchor investor in the Subang SEZ. It is targeted to absorb a workforce of 95,139 people. (SOURCE)
