There are 130 booths of West Java's leading MSMEs which present various creative product creations, fashion, culinary and other premium creative industries, helping to enliven the West Java Creative Works and West Java Creativity Week (KKJ-PKJB) 2024 which will take place at the Atrium of Trans Studio Mall Bandung, from June 28-30, 2024.
This event is one of the efforts to raise the class of MSMEs in West Java which was held by Bank Indonesia together with the West Java Provincial Government and the West Java Dekranasda.
KKJ-PKJB 2024, which is the Road to Indonesian Creative Work (KKI) event, takes the theme 'Synergy to Strengthen the Green Economy, Digital and Inclusive Finance and Investment Climate for Economic Independence', attended by the Indonesian Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas), Deputy Governor Bank Indonesia, Aida S. Budiman, and Acting. Governor of West Java, Bey Machmudin, and Regional Secretary Jabat Herman Suryatman.
In his remarks, the Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan, said that the 2024 KKJ-PKJB was a form of commitment by the Ministry of Trade together with the Regional Government and related stakeholders including Bank Indonesia in encouraging the marketing of West Java MSME products.
This is also in line with MSMEs which are considered critical engines for the economy through large employment and contribution to economic growth.
"Apart from that, MSMEs also have the potential to become a motor for increasing Indonesia's export performance in line with the existence of various commodities that have the potential to be widely marketed to major export destination countries," said Zulhas at TSM Bandung, Friday (28/6/2024).
According to him, one of the concrete steps taken by the Ministry of Trade to encourage exports of West Java MSMEs is through the Export Coaching Program (ECP). ECP is a synergy program of the Ministry of Trade through the Human Resources Training Center for Export and Trade Services (PPEJP) of the Ministry of Trade with Bank Indonesia West Java through an intensive export assistance program for 8 months.
"This ECP aims to increase MSMEs' understanding of export procedures, permits and requirements, so that export business matching can be carried out with potential overseas buyers. This program has succeeded in realizing several MSME export deliveries independently in 2024, including exports of processed food products, Banana chips and "King Spicy to Japan is worth 270 million rupiah, and Wanoja coffee exports to Saudi Arabia are worth 1.4 billion rupiah," explained Zulhas.
Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Aida S. Budiman, in her speech said that MSMEs also play an important role in controlling regional inflation. In the 4K framework for controlling regional inflation, supply availability is one of the important pillars that can be supported by MSMEs or Food Cluster players.
