SUKABUMI – Three districts in Sukabumi City—Baros, Cibeureum, and Lembursitu, collectively known as Bacile—are now attracting investors as a new magnet. The availability of vast land areas makes this region a potential economic growth center amid a rising investment trend.
Data from the Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) shows that as of August 2025, investment inflows into Sukabumi City reached IDR 918.9 billion. This figure reflects an increasingly conducive and attractive business climate for entrepreneurs.
Teten Agus Sugihan, Head of Investment Division at DPMPTSP Sukabumi City, cited Bacile as a strategic area due to its ample development space. “Investment tends to move towards areas with available large land. Bacile is among the most promising,” he said on Wednesday (September 10).
Although open to investment, the Sukabumi City Government limits the types of industries allowed. Only non-polluting industries and small to medium scale processing industries are permitted. “We do not open opportunities for industries that have the potential to pollute the environment. The investment profile in Sukabumi is still dominated by the service, trade, and property sectors,” Teten emphasized.
In terms of employment, the investment growth also has a significant impact. A total of 21,133 people have been absorbed by 8,358 companies, consisting of 7,066 micro businesses, 1,199 small businesses, 52 medium businesses, and 41 large companies.
To attract more investors, DPMPTSP continues to promote regional potential and improve service quality. The use of the nationally integrated Online Single Submission (OSS) application is one of the main strategies.
“With OSS, the licensing process is faster and more transparent. Investors feel supported, and we want to continue maintaining that trust,” he concluded.
